Tsomgo Lake

Tsomgo Lake

51 km | Approximately 2 hours

A glacial lake held in a bowl of high ridges on the road to the Nathu La pass, frozen through the coldest months and mirror-still in spring. It sits far above the town and the drive climbs steadily, so it is a full-day excursion. A permit is required and is arranged in advance — the resort can advise.

Banjhakri Falls

Banjhakri Falls

8 km

A waterfall dropping through a landscaped park of pools, bridges and carved figures drawn from Sikkimese folklore. It is the closest of these to the resort and the easiest to fit into an afternoon, with paths that climb gently alongside the water to the head of the fall.
